181 rescued in Cox\\\'s Bazar

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) personnel rescued 181 people, including women, at Bay of Bengal in Cox’s Bazar when they were being trafficked to Malayasia. The Coast Guard personnel also detained 11 employees of two cargo vessels carrying the victims. Coast Guard sources said acting on secret information, a Coast Guard boat intercepted the two cargo vessels near St Martin's on Tuesday morning and rescued the 181 people including women. Human traffickers were sending them to Malaysia through sea with the promise of better employement in the South East Asian country. The victims and the employees of the two vessels will be handed over to Taknaf Police Station, according to a news agency.
