182 persons declared CIPs for 2017

The government has selected 182 persons as commercially important persons (CIPs) for the year 2017.
The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) has selected the persons considering their valuable contributions to the country's export and trade.
To this effect, a gazette notification on September 07 last published the names of CIPs.
Of the total, some 136 have been selected under the category of products exports. The rest 46 have been selected under trade, out of whom 13 are the directors of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI).
They will be given CIP cards for one year and they would enjoy some facilities, according to the gazette notification.
The CIPs will get pass and car sticker for entry to the Bangladesh Secretariat. They will get invitations from the city corporations/ municipal corporations for attending national programmes, can use VIP Lounge-2 of the airport and will get priority on seats reservations of rail, roads and waterways (government transports).
Besides, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will issue letter of introduction to the CIPs for visa purpose.
The CIPs and their family members will get priority in getting cabins at government hospitals for treatment.
