19-member body of BASPA announced

A new forum styled 'Bangladesh Society for Public Administration (BASPA) was launched Tuesday to promote the efficiency of public sector profession. The newly launched body also aims to bring about excellence in public administration research and practice.
"Public Administration (PA) as an academic discipline and as a professional field is comparatively new in Bangladesh. One of the major hindrances in realizing PA's potential has been the absence of an effective mouthpiece," president of newly launched 'BASPA' Prof Dr Mohammad Mohabbat Khan said at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity on the day.
"It is hoped that the establishment of BASPA will fulfill to a large extent the long-felt demand of public administration scholars and practitioners in Bangladesh," he also said.
Among others, BASPA Secretary General Dr M Abul Kashem Mozumder, professor and Chair of the Department of Public Administration of Jahangirnagar University, was also present on the occasion.
