19 more die of Covid-19

Nineteen more people died of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Wednesday, with the authorities reporting 1,733 new cases during the last 24-hour reporting time of the day.
With the latest figures, the number of total casualties stood at 6,127 since the virus was first detected in Bangladesh in March last.
Of the fatalities, 16 males and three females died of Covid-19 on the day, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Some 14,524 samples were tested during the last 24 hours while a total of 14,687 samples were collected across the country during the period, it said.
The rates of fatalities and detection were 1.45 per cent and 11.93 per cent respectively on the day.
However, a total of 1,715 people recovered from the Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, it mentioned.
On the other hand, the rate of recovery from the disease was recorded at 80.67 per cent in Bangladesh, the DGHS press release mentioned.
According to the official data, a total of 425,353 people have so far been infected with coronavirus in Bangladesh and 343,131 of them recovered from the deadly virus attack.
