19 receive Meena Media Awards

A total of 19 journalists and producers have received the Meena Media Awards-2009 this year for their contribution to promoting children's rights in Bangladesh.
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) distributed the awards at a function at the city's British Council (BC) auditorium Wednesday.
Hossain Zakir of the Jugantor, Sukden Sana of the Weekly Robbar, Tanzia Islam Prianka, Monir Hossain Topu, Munni Saha and Shahnaz Munni of ATN Bangla, Tanveer Hossain Probal of Desh TV and Sohel Mozumder of RTV are among other winners.
UNICEF Representative in Bangladesh Carel de Rooy said the awards were given for the fifth consecutive time this year to recognise journalists and producers who promoted children's rights through their reports and productions in print and electronic media.
