197 polling centres identified as vulnerable in KCC

KHULNA, July 19 (UNB): Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has identified 101 polling centres as vulnerable while 96 others most vulnerable in 31 wards of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) for the mayoral poll slated for August 4.
KMP has taken necessary steps to maintain the law and order situation during the election period. Some 5,500 police and ansar personnel will be deployed during the polls. Besides, RAB and BDR men will be kept on patrol duty on the day.
The voters will cast votes in 1,165 booths in total of 239 polling centres in KCC.
Official sources said already, 239 presiding officers, 1,165 assistant presiding officers and 2,230 polling officers have been recruited for successfully conducting the polls.
