1971 history project takes off

Forty-three years after the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, a cross-country history project is underway to record facts and documents connected with it, reports bdnews24.com.
The India-Bangladesh History Project, led by Haroon Habib, a leading Bangladesh freedom fighter (FF) and well- known writer and journalist, will document the historic role of the people and the government of India and the state governments and the people of the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and West Bengal.
Habib is the former chief editor of the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and recipient of the Bangla Academy award.
Mr Habib was in Guwahati Monday to interact with a selected group of intellectuals and media personalities at Guwahati Press Club.
