1st Inter District Women's Kabaddi begins Friday

The Spectra Group 1st Inter-District Women's Kabaddi Competition begins in the city Friday with the participation of 13 teams, reports UNB.
The participating teams, split into four groups, will compete in two venues -- Kabaddi Stadium and Dhanmondi Women's Sports Complex.
Later, the four group champions will directly play in the semi-finals.
Of the estimated budget of Tk 250,000 for the tournament, sponsors Spectra Group will provide Tk 200,000.
On completion of the meet, some 25-30 selected players will undergo training by the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation for the next Indo-Bangla Games to be held in January.
Kbaddi Federation general secretary Mohammad Nazrul Islam disclosed the details at a press conference at the National Sports Council (NSC) conference room Wednesday afternoon.
Spectra Group general manager (corporate affairs) Major (retd) SM Reaz Rashid and tournament committee chairman Nadira Hossain were, among others, present on the occasion.
The concluding ceremony of the three-day meet will be held on July 15 with Youth and Sports Ministry Adviser Tapan Chowdhury as chief guest. Federation president and IGP Noor Mohammad will preside over the function.
Teams: Group A: Tangail DSA, Narail DSA and Khulna DSA; Group B: Dhaka DSA, Jamalpur DSA, Manikganj DSA and Gaibandha DSA; Group C: Narayanganj DSA, Rangamati DSA and Munshiganj DSA and Group D: Rajshahi DSA, Faridpur DSA and Madaripur DSA.
