2 Afghan police die, NATO chopper crashes in east

KABUL, (Afghanistan), Apr 23 : Militants ambushed an Afghan police vehicle, killing two Saturday and a coalition helicopter crashed in eastern Afghanistan with no fatalities, NATO and Afghan officials said. The Afghan Ministry of Interior said insurgents attacked the policemen in Dara Nur district in the northern tip of Nangarhar province. -AP

Two US soldiers killed in Iraq: military
BAGHDAD, April 23 : Two American soldiers have been killed during a mission in southern Iraq, the US military said on Saturday. The fatalities raised to 4,450 the number of US soldiers who have died in Iraq since the 2003 US-led invasion to oust Saddam Hussein. "Two US service members were killed yesterday (Friday) while conducting operations in southern Iraq," the military said in a statement without giving any other details. -AFP
