2 AL rival groups clash in Pabna, 20 injured

PABNA, Jan 10: At least 20 people were injured as two rival groups of Awami League (AL) clashed for establishing supremacy in the Dipchar area under Pabna Sadar Upazila Friday morning. Six houses and three shops were vandalised and set on fire during the clash.
The clash erupted between two groups of Azizur Rahman Tinku and Aziz Mollah, local AL leaders, over establishing supremacy in the area.
Locals said supporters of both the groups locked in clash in the Mollapara area of Dipchar at about 11am on Friday with lethal weapons and fire arms. Several rounds of bullet were shot during the clash. Three of the injured were hit by bullet.
Of the injured Swapon, 18, Shahin, 20, Aslam, 30, Bakul, 40, Nasim, 36, Motiar, 30, Ripon, 23, were admitted to Pabna Medical College Hospital in critical condition
