2 arrested with arms, ammo

BGB arrested two people along with firearms and bullets in Shibganj Upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Wednesday afternoon. The arrestees were identified as Sumon Ali, 32, of Chakdaultpur village and Mehedi Hasan, 25, of Lagatpara village of the Upazila. Borer Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sources said, tipped off, a team of BGB-9 raided Sonamasjid border point around 5:00pm. Sensing their presence, the duo tried to flee firing one round of bullet. After a chase, the BGB team arrested them and recovered one pistol, three rounds of bullet and one magazine from them, according to a news agency.
