2 BCL men grilled in Faruk killing case

Detectives arrested two leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for quizzing in connection with Tangail district unit Awami League leader Faruk Ahmed killing case on Saturday night. A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police detained MA Rouf, secretary of Red Crescent Society and former general secretary of the district unit of BCL, from Nirala More area in the district town around 8:30pm. Besides, the law enforcers arrested another BCL leader Faruk Hossain Manik, also former vice-chairman of Sadar Upazila, from a bus in Ashekpur area of the district town, by which he was returning home from Dhaka around 11:45am. However, the two detainees were later freed around 11:00am on Sunday after quizzing them about the killing of Faruk Ahmed. The AL leader’s bullet-hit body was found on January 18, 2013, on a road near his house at College Para. His wife Nahar Ahmed filed a case in this connection three days later, according to a news agency.
