2 boys drown in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, Jun 25:  Two minor boys drowned in ponds in separate incidents in Chuadanga sadar Upazila and Damurhuda Upazila of the district Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Tasim Bin Tamim (05), son of Dabir Ali   and a resident of Badarganj Dasomi village under Chuadanga sadar Upazila, and Sumon (08), son of Ziarul Mia and a resident of Chandipur village under Damurhuda upazila .
The victim's family members and local sources said Tasim was playing on the bank of a pond in village Badarganj Dasomi near his house in the afternoon. All on a sudden he slipped into the pond and drowned. Family members searched him at all possible places but could not find him out. Locals found floating body of Tamim in the pond and recovered the body.
In another incident Sumon and his playmates were playing on the bank of a pond near his house in the afternoon. At one stage he slipped into the pond and drowned as he did not know how to swim. Later, locals rescued him in a critical condition and rushed him to local private clinic where the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead.
