2 BRAC Uni students killed in road crash

Two students of BRAC University were killed on Friday in a crash involving a bus and two motorcycles while riders were racing with each other on the highway in Sirajganj, police said.
Two others were also injured in the mishap took place around 8pm on the Sirajganj-Pabna highway in front of the Shahjadpur Fire Service station. The deceased were named as ‘Anik’, 22, and ‘Akash’, 22 – final-year students of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at the private university. Their injured friends - ‘Palash’ and ‘Momin’ – are also students of the university. They came here to attend a wedding at Shahjadpur’s Chorachitulia village, Palash’s father Ruhul Amin told bdnews24.com. The accident occurred when they were returning from Baghabarhi river port along with 11 other friends on five motorcycles, he said. Shahjadpur Police Station OC Hasan Shamim Iqbal said two motorcycles at high speed lost control and the two-wheelers rammed against each other. An oncoming bus collided head-on with both bikes.Anik and Akash died on the spot, he said.
