2 chopped dead in Ctg shrine

Two people were chopped to death in an attack by miscreants at a shrine in Chittagong city on Friday. A young man was also injured when the criminals exploded a bomb while fleeing. The deceased were identified as Rahmatullah alias Nengta Fakir, 52, a fakir, and his follower Abdul Quader, 25, also custodian of the shrine. Police and locals said a gang of miscreants stormed into the den of Rahmatullah, kwon as Lengta Fakirer Mazar, in Sher Shah Bangla Bazar in the port city’s Bayezid area around 2pm. The attackers chopped Rahmatullah and Quader indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving them dead on the spot, said sub-inspector of Bayezid Police Station Forkan Ahmed Sujon. They also exploded a bomb when Monir, 25, was trying to catch one of the attackers while fleeing after the incident, leaving him injured. Monir was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), according to a news agency.
