2 cops hurt as robbers hurl bombs

Two policemen were injured as robbers hurled crude bombs at them at a railway station in Parbatipur  upazila of Dinajpur early Saturday. The injured policemen are sub-inspector Sadequzzaman and assistant sub-inspector Manikuddin of Parbatipur Police Station. SI Saiful Islam said a gang of bandits stormed into the house of one Nur Hossain at Khepupara village of the upazila in the early hours and looted valuables, including gold ornaments and Tk 12,000 in cash. On information, team of police rushed in and launched a drive to arrest the robbers. Sensing danger, the robbers threw four crude bombs at the law enforcers, leaving the two police officers injured. However, police managed to catch three of the robbers while the rest fled, according to a news agency.
