2 die, 15 injured in road accident

At least two people were killed and 15 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the Rangpur-Kurigram Highway in Rangpur’s Kawnia Upazila on Wednesday morning. The dead are Sirajul Islam, 36, son of Main Uddin, and Shafiqul Islam, 32, son of Wahab Ali in Bhurungamari Upazila of Kurigram district. The accident took place around 5:30am when a Bhurungamari-bound bus from Dhaka collided with a truck at Mirbagh-Bijolghanti, leaving two bus passengers dead on the spot and 15 others injured. The injured were admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital and Kawnia Upazila Health Complex. Of the 15 injured, the condition of seven were to be critical, according to UNB.
