2 die, 4 injured in Habiganj crash

At least two people were killed and four others injured in a road accident at East Joypur in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Joytu Miah, 40, son of late Firoz Miah of Titarkona village and Akbar Ali, 70, son of late Ahsan Ullah of Rimarghjat village of the upazila. Police said two CNG-run auto-rickshaws collided head-on at the village on Shreemangal-Mirpur Road at about 12:30 am, leaving Joytu Miah dead on the spot and at least five other people injured. Of the injured, Akbar Ali was rushed to Habiganj Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead. The other injured were whisked to the upazila health complex which referred Milon and Kachon Ali to Habiganj Sadar Hospital as their condition deteriorated. At least two other critically injured were referred to Dhaka for better treatment. Police filed a case in connection with the case, according to UNB.
