2 die as truck overturns in Manikganj

Two people were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Baliajhuri under Ghior Upazila in Manikganj district on Saturday night. The deceased were identified as Taimur Rahman, 34, son of Makbul Hossain, and Alal Uddin, 40, son of Johur Sarder, a resident of Dumuria upazila in Khulna district. They were vegetable traders. Police said a Dhaka-bound truck from Khulna losing control over its wheel overturned on the highway, leaving the two dead on the spot around 10:30pm. Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Manikganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Kazi Mohammad Akramuzzaman, in-charge of Borongail police outpost, confirmed the incident. A case was filed, according to a news agency.
