2 die at Biswa Ijtema

Two participants at the Biswa Ijtema – an annual congregation of Muslims – have died of heart complications. They have been identified as Haji Abdul Majid, 65, hailing from Belkuchi Upazila of Sirajganj district, and Omar Ali, 48, from Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka. In-charge of Ijtama’s mortuary, Md Adam Ali, said Majid had slipped on his way to bathroom and became unconscious in the early hours of Friday while Ali fell sick in his tent around the same time. Both of them were rushed to the Tongi General Hospital. Doctor of Tongi General Hospital Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury said both of them had cardiac arrest and died before they were brought to the hospital, according to bdnews24.com.
