2 die in Birganj, Syedpur road crashes

Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur and Syedpur upazila of Nilphamari districts on Wednesday. Police said an unidentified young man, aged around 25, was killed in a road accident at Bot Toli Kumarpara point on the Dinajpur-Thakurgaon Highway under Birganj upazila of Dinajpur in the afternoon. The pedestrian youth met his tragic end after a Panchagarh bound bus from Dinajpur ran over him, killing him on the spot. In another accident, Lecturer Abdus Samad of Thakurgaon district was critically injured after being hit by a bus while he was getting up aboard a moving BRTC bus at Syedpur Bus Terminal in Syedpur town of Nilphamari in the afternoon. Abdus Samad, lecturer of private Goreya College in Thakurgaon, succumbed to his injuries on his way to a hospital in Syedpur around 4:00pm. Confirming the incident, Officers-in-Charge Jahangir Hossain of Birganj police station and Ismail Hossain of Syedpur police station said that separate cases were filed in these connections with the respective police stations, according to BSS.
