2 die in Cox’s Bazar ‘encounter’

Two suspected dacoits have been killed in an ‘encounter’ with police at Ramu Upazila in Cox’s Bazar. Four policemen have also been injured in the gunfight, said Ramu Police Station OC Saikul Islam. The dead were identified as Anwar Hossain and Khalilur Rahman. Police took position in Khoaigyakata area after getting a tip-off that criminals were planning robbery on Monday early morning, OC Islam said. Sensing the presence of police the dacoits fired at them, forcing police to retaliate. After some time the dacoits retreated. Police nabbed three criminals, who sustained bullet injuries, from the scene. They were admitted to Ramu health complex where two of them died. Police recovered two firearms and four rounds of bullet from the spot. The injured policemen were administered first aid, according to bdnews24.com.
