2 die in Khulna road crash

At least two people were killed and seven others injured in a head-on collision between two trucks on the Khan Jahan Ali Bridge in Khulna city on Thursday morning. The deceased were identified as Kamrul, 38, driver of a truck and son of Wajed Sheikh of Chitalmari area of Bagerhat district, and truck rider Md Rafiqul Islam, 36. Police said a Khulna-bound speeding truck from Bagerhat collided with a mini truck coming from the opposite direction on the bridge over Rupsha River around 3.30am, leaving Kamrul, driver of the mini truck, and its rider Rafiqul dead on the spot and seven other riders of the two trucks injured. The injured were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital, according to a news agency.
