2 die in Mymensingh crash

At least two people were killed and an unspecified number were injured in a road accident at Tarakanda upazila in Mymensingh district on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Shafiqul Islam, 27, and Al-Amin, 19. Police and locals said the accident took place on the Mymensingh-Haluaghat Road at Madhupur village around 6:00am when a Haluaghat-bound truck crushed into a passenger-packed auto-rickshaw, leaving both Shafiqul and Al-Amin dead on the spot and many passengers of the battery-driven auto-rickshaw injured. On information, police rushed in and recovered the bodies. Police also seized the truck but the driver managed to escape, according to UNB.
