2 die in oxygen cylinder blast

Two workers have been killed and at least 10 others injured in an oxygen cylinder explosion at a steel mill in Rupganj Upazila. Police and the factory authorities said the explosion also blew off the Ahmed Re-Rolling Mills’ tin roof in Barapa area at around 4pm Wednesday, killing two on the spot. The dead were identified as Abu Jafar, 22, and ‘Razzak’, 23.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. Witnesses said 20 workers were working in the mill at the time of the accident.Manager (Administration) of AK Oxygen Limited Dinabandhu Mitra said the reason behind the explosion was not immediately known, according to a news agency.
