2 die in Satkhira road accident

A schoolgirl and her elder brother were killed in a road accident on Satkhira-Asasuni road at Satkhira Sadar Upazila on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Tawfiqa Zaman Ruhina, 11, daughter of Abdul Jalil of Puratan Satkhira area of the district town, and her elder brother Mehedi Hasan Tamim. 19. Police said a speeding lorry (water tanker) hit the motorcycle Tamim and Ruhina were riding around 7:00am near the Upazila Parishad office, leaving the siblings dead on the spot. Locals caught the truck and blocked the road for half-an-hour protesting the accident. Later, police rushed in and brought the situation under control, according to a news agency.
