2 drug peddlers held with Yaba in Sherpur

Detectives arrested two alleged drug peddlers in possession of 100 pieces of Yaba tablet from Sheri Bridge area in the district town on Thursday. The arrestees were identified as Hatem Ali, 32, son of Jahur Ali of Nanni Uttarbanda village, and Belayet Hossain, 38, son of Abul Kashem of Chandgaon village of Nalitabari upazila. DB officer-in-charge Nazrul Islam said, tipped off, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted a drive in the area and intercepted a CNG-run auto-rickshaw going to Jamalpur from Nanni at about 2:30 pm. The law enforcers arrested the duo along with 100 pieces of Yaba tablet from the vehicle. A  case was filed in this connection, according to a news agency.
