2 electrocuted in Sylhet

Two persons have died after being electrocuted while trying to douse a fire at a charcoal manufacturing plant in Sylhet district. The victims are identified as Rocky Miah, 16, and Bimal Prasad, 30. The fire broke out in the plant in Railway Colony area under Fenchuganj Upazila around 3am on Saturday, said Fenchuganj Police Station OC Nandan Kanti Dhar. Locals tried to put it out. The two died after coming into contact with an electric wire. Angry locals vandalised the office of the Rural Electrification Board in Maijgaon area and blocked Sylhet-Kulaura road in the morning, halting traffic causing sufferings to the commuters. Police chased them off the road around 11am, according to bdnews24.com.
