2 families become debt-free with support from Guardian Life

Guardian Life Insurance Limited, in collaboration with Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB), organised a claim settlement ceremony under its life insurance coverage for loan beneficiaries.
Under this arrangement, members who take loans from FIVDB are automatically covered under life insurance protection. In the unfortunate event that a borrower passes away before repaying the loan, Guardian Life fulfills its promise by settling the outstanding loan amount, says a press release.
Recently, two FIVDB borrowers, Anjue Nayek and Jafura Begum, took loans of Tk 70,000 and Tk 60,000 respectively. Before repaying their loans, Anjue Nayek passed away on 6 February due to severe fever, while Jafura Begum passed away on 8 February due to a heart attack.
In this context, on April 1, an event was jointly organised by Guardian Life and FIVDB at the FIVDB Headquarters located in Kollagram, Sylhet. During the ceremony, Guardian Life officially settled the full outstanding loan amounts in the presence of the families of the deceased borrowers.
Representing Guardian Life Insurance Limited at the event were Fasihul Mostofa, Senior Vice President and Head of Product and EPMO; Md. Naushadul Karim Chowdhury, Vice President, Micro, Digital Channel and ADC; Rafayet Sikder Razot, Vice President, Marketing and Communications; Detepriya Roy Chowdhury, Senior Assistant Vice President, Marketing and Communications; and Asif Bin Mujib, Senior Assistant Vice President, Micro, Digital Channel and ADC, along with other senior officials of the company.
From FIVDB, Emad Ullah Shahidul Islam, Board Member; Syed Istiaque Ahmed, Board Member; and Bazle Mustafa Razee, Executive Director, along with other senior officials of the organisation, were present at the event.
On behalf of Guardian Life, Detepriya Roy Chowdhury said: "Every insurance policy is very valuable to us. What the families have lost can never truly be replaced. However, in line with our commitment, we have ensured that the insurance claim amount reached them within the shortest possible time.”
