BHOLA, Nov 1 (BSS): A devastating fire gutted a total of eight business establishments including a poultry firm and a rice mill at Baliar Polghata Bazar area under South Digholdi union of Sadar upazila in Bhola Monday, local sources said.
Being informed by the locals, shop owners rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after two hours of trying.
The loss caused by the fire was estimated about Taka 1.5m by the owners of the shops. They said the Fire service people did not receive their phone calls at that time.
UNB reports: Four shops and a mosque were gutted in a devastative fire at Rajargaon Bazar in Hajiganj upazila in Chandpur Monday noon.
Witnesses said the fire originated from electric short circuit in the mosque and soon engulfed the adjoining furniture shop, grocery, stationary shop and pharmacy at 2pm.
On information, fire fighters from Hajiganj Upazila headquarter fire service rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after an hour of frantic efforts.
