2 held in Dhaka for killing mother, daughter in Ctg

Police have arrested two persons from Dhaka in connection with Monday’s murder of a mother and daughter in Chittagong city. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB), Chittagong, Babul Akter said the two were nabbed from Dhaka city’s Malibagh area. The arrestees were identified as Abul Raihan, the prime suspect who had allegedly been harassing the daughter for the past few days, and his friend “Md Shahid”. They had confessed to having committed the murders, said ADC Akter. A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination candidate, Saima Akter, 17, and her mother, 49-year-old Rejia Khatun, had been hacked to death on Monday at their Agrabad residence in the port city. Saima’s elder brother, Sayed Reja, said Raihan had been harassing his sister for the past several days, and that he had a heated altercation with him several days ago over the matter, according to bdnews24.com.
