2 hurt, 10 houses damaged as tornado hits Sherpur

SHERPUR, Aug 24 (UNB): An indigenous couple was injured and 10 houses, including a school building, were damaged as a tornado lashed Bharua and Dudhnoi villages in Jhinaigati upazila of the district early Sunday.
The tornado hit the villages around 5:00 am and lasted one minute.
Witnesses said Manindra Sangma and his wife Sanjila Marak, residents of Dudhnoi village, were injured as a wall collapsed on them when the tornado hit the village.
Later, local people rescued them and took to the upazila health complex.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mozammel Haque visited the affected areas.
