2 including Dinajpur UP member killed in road accidents

DINAJPUR, Oct 29 (UNB): A union parishad member who was seriously injured in a motorbike accident at Kashempur village in Sadar uapzila in Dinajpur Friday died in Dhaka Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Belal Hossain,38, member of ward-2 of Auliapur union parishad in sadar upazila.
Sources said when Belal was returning home in a motorbike Friday evening he lost control and the motorbike skidded off the road, leaving him injured.
He was first rushed to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital and then shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. He was taken to Dhaka Trauma Hospital where he succumbed at 6am Saturday.
Laxmipur
A minor boy was killed in a road accident at Boro Volobpur on Chandraganj-Dasherhat road in Sadar upazila in Laxipur on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Nawshad, 9, son of Zahir Uddin of the area.
Police quoting witnesses said a speedy sand-loaded pick-up van hit Nawshad while he was crossing the road at noon, leaving him dead on the spot. Local people caught the pick-up van but its driver managed to flee.
Officer-in-charge of Chadraganj police investigation center Abul Bashar visited the spot and took the vehicle to the police station.
