Quoting witnesses, police said a gang of miscreants hurled bombs at Iman Ali at Baroputa Bazar around 10:00am, leaving him dead on the spot. Iman Ali was talking with his party men there when the attack took place. About one hour later, a group of people equipped with firearms and sharp weapons attacked Lalon. They sprayed bullets on Lalon leaving him critically injured. They also chopped him with sharp weapons. Lalon fell into a roadside ditch and died shortly. Police said conflict over establishing supremacy in the area might have led to the death of the two Jubo League activists, according to a news agency.
