2 kidnapped people rescued

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) rescued two kidnapped people, including a teenage girl, and arrested three alleged kidnappers from Tongi in Gazipur in separate incidents early Sunday. The victims were identified as Md Andul Quader alias Liton, 28, Shikha Chowdhury, 17. Briefing the reporters at DMP Media centre, Joint Commissioner of DB Monirul Islam said Shikha Chowdhury had been missing from Dakshin Khan area since May 6. Shikha’s father filed a general diary with local police station in this connection on the same day. Acting on a tip-off, a special team of DB police led by its senior Assistant Commissioner Nazmul Haque conducted a raid in a house of Tongi College Gate area at about 1:00 am and rescued Shikha Chowdhury, according to a news agency.
