2 killed, 20 injured in mayhem in Sirajganj, Noakhali

SIRAJGANJ, Jan 1 (UNB): A man was killed and 15 people were injured when a bus crashed into a pickup van at Konabari on Jamuna Bridge connecting road Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the Bogra-bound bus rammed into the pickup van coming from opposite direction at about 3.30 pm killing its helper on the spot. Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Of the injured, nine were admitted to Sadar Hospital. Condition of five of them was said to be critical.
Another report from Noakhali adds: A head-on collision between two tempos at Somirmunshir Hat on Choumohoni-Feni road killed a passenger and injured five others Tuesday morning.
M Daiya Hossain (40) of Dakkhin Sahapur village in Senbagh died on the way to Senbagh Health Complex. The other injured were released from the health complex after they received first aid.
Drivers of both the tempos went into hiding.
