2 killed, 50 injured in separate clashes

BARISAL, Nov 10 (UNB)-Two people were killed and 50 others injured in separate clashes in Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur and Gournadi upazila of Barisal on Monday and Tuesday.Police and local people said Daria and Hawladar groups locked into clashes over establishing supremacy on Tuesday morning at Ponakhali village under Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur district. Abbasuddin, officer-in-charge of Nazirpur police station said the four-hour clashes left two people dead and 35 others injured. At least 40 houses were torched and ransacked during the clashes. The two deceased were identified as Babul Hawladar, 31, and Yahia.
