2 killed as bike slews off Sylhet bridge

Two motorcycle riders were killed and another was injured as their bike slewed sideways off a bridge into a canal at Chhatak upazila in Sunamganj district on Friday night. The dead are Masum Billa, 22, and Jony, 23, son of Babul Talukdar of Barkahon village of the upazila. The injured is Sayem. Local sources said the accident took place at Karail village at the upazila around 11:30 pm when the bike carrying three friends skidded off the bridge and fell into a canal beneath as the biker to save a dog. Masum dead on the spot and his two friends were injured. Of the injured, Jony died on way to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital while Sayem was admitted to the hospital. His condition is stated to be critical, according to UNB.
