2 killed as bus collides with auto-rickshaw

Two people were killed and four others injured in a collision between a bus and CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway near Model Police Station area in Comilla Sadar upazila on Saturday night. One of the deceased was identified as Hanif, 22, resident of Matiara village of the upazila. Prosanto Pal, officer-in-charge of Sadar Dakhshin Police Station, said the accident took place when the Dhaka-bound ‘Shaymoli Paribahan Bus’ collided with the auto-rickshaw in the area around 11:00pm, leaving two passengers of the auto-rickshaw dead on the spot and four other people injured. Being informed, police recovered the bodies. The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Police seized the bus but the driver fled away, according to a news agency.
