2 killed as bus hits auto-rickshaw in Dhaka

Two passengers of an auto-rickshaw were killed and its driver injured when a bus hit the vehicle in Kakrail under Ramna Police Station in Dhaka city early Thursday. The deceased were identified as Asif Manjur, 25, and Rubel, 28. The injured driver was known as Firoz. Police sources said the incident took place when a bus of Econo Paribahan hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw near Kakrail Intersection around 3:4am. Being informed, a team of Ramna police went to the spot and rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty doctor pronounced two auto-rickshaw passengers dead at around 3:40am, said Inspector Muzammel, in-charge of DMCH police camp. The injured was receiving treatment at the hospital, according to a news agency.
