2 killed as train rams bike

Two people were killed as a train rammed a motorcycle at a level crossing at Nusratpur in Habiganj Sadar upazila here on Wednesday evening. The deceased were identified as Dulal Mia, 25, son of Rahidan Mia, and Shafiq Mia, 45, son of late Bingraj Mia of Bangashiri in Madhabpur upazila of the district. Locals said the Sylhet-bound ‘Jayantika Express’ from Dhaka crashed into the motorcycle at the level crossing at about 6:35pm, leaving Dulal dead on the spot and Shafiq severely injured. The injured was rushed to Habiganj General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 7:15pm, according to a news agency.
