2 killed by lightning strike

Two people, including a woman, have died in separate incidents of lightning strike in Sayedpur upazila of Nilphamari district. The dead are Charbhola Nath, 45, son of Late Chandan Mohan, hailing from Singria Siburhat Bahadurpara village, and Nur Nahar Begum, 45, wife of Late Abdur Razzaq, a resident of Khalisha Dhulia village. Witnesses said a streak of lightning knocked down Charbhola while he was working in a field in Singria Siburhat Bahadurpara. Villagers rescued him but he died on his way to a local hospital. Nur Nahar was hit by a lightning strike while she was going to a field to bring her cows in Khalisha Dhulia village. She died on the spot, according to a news agency.
