2 killed in city hotel fire

Two persons died in a fire at a residential hotel in Bangshal in Dhaka on Friday. The dead are Saij Uddin, 35, and Sultan Mian, 55. They were boarders of ‘Bangladesh Muslim Abashik Hotel’ at 148 Siddiqbazar, Bangshal, where the fire broke out. Fire Service and Civil Defence sources said the fire fighters reached the spot around 3:38am and tamed the blaze by 6:54am. The fire damaged assets worth about Tk 0.3 million, they added. Bangshal Police Station’s duty officer said the bodies of the hotel boarders were sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital for autopsy, according to a news agency.
