2 killed in Comilla road crash

Two people were killed as a truck rammed a rickshaw van in Balda Khal area on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Daudkandi upazila on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Sumon Mia, 22, son of Akkas Ali of Kanthalkandi village in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district and his cousin Anwar Hossain, 25, son of Jamal Mia of the same village. Roisuddin, sub-inspector of Daudkandi Highway Police ,said the sand-laden truck hit the rickshaw-van on the highway in the morning, leaving Sumon dead on the spot and injuring two others. He injured were rushed to Gauripur Hospital where Anwar succumbed to his injuries.
