2 killed in Ctg road mishap

CHITTAGONG, Mar 14 (UNB) : Two people were killed and 23 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Bashbaria on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Sitakunda Upazila early Monday. The deceased were identified as truck driver Jalal Kazi (60), of Noria Upazila of Shariatpur district and bus driver Rejaul (58), a resident of Mirpur in Dhaka. Highway police said the accident occurred when the Chittagong-bound Unique Paribahan bus from Dhaka collided with the truck coming from opposite direction, leaving both the bus and truck drivers dead on the spot and injured 23 bus passengers at around 4 am. The injured were admitted to Chittagong Medical Collage Hospital. Police, on information, recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.
