2 killed in road accidents

MADARIPUR, Aug 3 (BSS): A man was killed and five others injured as two vehicles collided at Tatikandha in Rajoer upazila of the district today. Police said two locally-made vehicles 'Nasiman' collided head-on, leaving one killed on the spot and five wounded. The deceased could not be identified immediately, police said. The injured were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. The body was sent to the hospital for autopsy. A case was filed. Another report from Gazipur adds: Helper of a covered van Prakash Baure died on the spot and driver Yakub Ali seriously injured when their transport collided head on with a speedy truck at Nayanpur under Sripur thana on Tuesday night. According to Sripur Thana police the ill fated covered van was coming from Jaina, Gazipur and the loaded truck coming from Sripur collided at 12.15am. Driver Yakub Ali was admitted to Gazipur Sadar Hospital and the body of Prakash Baure sent to hospital for autopsy. Prakash Baure hails from Agoilzara, Barisal. Police seized both the transports. A case was registered with Sripur Thana.
