2 killed in road accidents in Gopalganj

Our CorrespondentGOPALGANJ, Oct 19: Two persons were killed in two separate road accidents at Police Line square and Gozaria on Dhaka-Khulna Highway under Gopalganj sadar and Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj districts, yesterday. According to Gopalganj thana police a youth while crossing the Dhaka-Khulna Highway at police line was run over by a pick-up van. In another incident one Abdur Rouf (60) was killed. According to Muksudpur Thana police yesterday evening while Abdur Rouf come back his residence at Tangrakhola under Muksudpur upzila from a local bazaar joybangla through on Dhaka-Khulna Highway. When he reached near at Gozaria under Muksudpur upzaila in Gopalganj district then Palash Paribahan when a passenger bus knocked him down from back side. He died on the spot. Doctors of RMCH continue strike RANGPUR, Oct 19 (UNB): Intern doctors of the Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) have been continuing their work abstention programme demanding punishment of the attackers on a fellow physician at the hospital. They started indefinite strike programme on Monday night causing untold sufferings to the patients. Hospital sources said that attendants of a patient assaulted Rezwanul Hoque, an intern doctor of the hospital on Saturday alleging his negligence of properly attending the patient. Later, the physicians protested the incident and demanded punishment of the attackers. The intern doctors on Tuesday gheraoed the office of the director of the hospital.
