2 killed in Satkhira road accident

Two rice traders were killed in road accident at Debhata Upazila in Satkhira district on Friday, police, hospital sources and locals said. The dead are Mohadeb Kumar, 40, son of Ranjan Kumar and Kena Ghosh, 45, son of Hore Ghosh of Sakhipur village. One Jakir Ali Sheikh, 45, was seriously injured. They were coming to Sakhipur by a bicycle at about 10am. A Kaliganj-bound truck (Khulna-Metro-ma-07-0019) hit them in front of Sakhipur Cinema Hall as the truck driver lost control over the wheels. Locals rescued and sent them to the upazila health complex where doctor declared Mohadeb dead while Kena Ghosh succumbed to his injuries later. Jakir was undergoing treatment at the hospital, according to a news agency.
