2 killed in Thakurgaon road accident

THAKURGAON, Jan 13 (BSS): Two people were killed and six others injured in a road accident on Thakurgaon-Ranisankail road at Kumarganj in a head-on collision between two motor cycles this morning.
The victims were identified as Shamim Hossain of Futanibazar village and Anu Mohammad of Kornait village under Ranisankail upazila of the district.
The injured were principal Ranisankail degree college, Tajul Islam an assistant prof. of the same college and Ranisankail correspondent of daily Ittefaque Anwarul Islam and journalist Setaur Rahman.
According to the injured, Shamim Hossain and Anu Mohammad were riding a motor cycle which collided head-on with another motor cycle coming from opposite side and dashed against a running private car leaving Shamim and Anu dead on the spot.
In the accident two riders of the other motorcycle were injured when the bike collided with the private car. The injured persons were admitted to Ranisankail upazila health complex.
Officer-in-charge of Ranisankail police station Sukumar Mohonto confirmed the accident. He said a case was filed with Ranisankail police station.
