2 minors drown in Rajshahi

Two children drowned in a waterbody in Gopail area of Mohonpur upazila of Rajshahi district on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Khadiza Khatun, 8, daughter of Anwrul Islam and Mominul Islam, 5, son of Nayeb Sarder, of the area. Police said Khadiza and Mominul slipped into the waterbody and drowned when they went there for plucking water lily around 10:30am. Abdul Hamid, officer-in-charge of Mohonpur Police Station said, local people rescued them and took them Mohonpur upazila health complex where doctor declared them dead. An unnatural death case was filed in this connection, according to a news agency.
